ORB’s Yuletide issue features five review from our core reviewers, four fiction and one non-fiction. Leading off is Arrested Song, Irena Karafilly’s wonderful love, war and feminism novel about rural Greece, followed by Rebecca Morris’s Other Maps, which explores recovering memory of past abuse. We are also featuring a new novel by prolific crime novelist Cathy Ace, The Corpse with the Pearly Smile, set in Polynesia, and Caroline Adderson’s enthralling and revelatory collection of short stories, A Way to be Happy. Wrapping up this month’s line-up is an in-depth review of D.G. Valdron’s behind-the-camera exposé of the 1970s science fiction TV series Starlost. ORB will take a break in January to recuperate from the holidays fun. Stay tuned for more great reviews in 2025.
